Nativity and Christmas Village

Every year my Abuela Luisa puts up a nativity, christmas tree and a big Christmas village in her house.  This year we had the priviledge to see and help set up these decorations.  Here are some pictures to show you how much she loves this time of year...

Here is the christmas tree next to the nativity.  It may be hard to see but at the bottom of the tree on the right side is a chorus of angels singing.

This is the beautiful nativity.  The table was first coated with colored sawdust to add color and some realism.

Here is an angled view of the christmas village. This is a 7 foot table! We were able to see her convert cardboard boxes into mountains but using paper, paint and even some cement. A few other small things as well for details such as cotton to resemble fog/mist.

My abuela is so detail oriented that she even has the "poor" people's homes and figurines on top of the mountains.

Here is a cool shot of the "rich and middle class" homes and the village as well.  The village has a train, a pond, some clowns preforming, a fire station with firemen on a horse and carriage and there is even a church with a bride and groom that have their limosine awaiting them.  It's all pretty cool!
