The Olivia Act

   For my friends in Mass, please read below something awesome that a friend of mine is doing. She is an awesome photographer and this would make an awesome gift for a family you know. The Olivia Act, named after one of the children killed in Newtown, was started by a photographer who wishes to be anonymous. Olivia’s family had pictures taken a short time before she was killed. Those pictures are now priceless to them. Upon hearing this, one photographer was moved to give away a 30 minute family photo shoot and has challenged other photographers to do the same. We go about our daily lives and sometimes we don’t take the time or have the resources to have family photos taken. What an honor to be able to give that gift to a family that would truly appreciate it at this point in their lives.

I will be taking nominations for a family in Massachusetts who you think would appreciate this gift. The session will take place sometime after the New Year and will be completely FREE to the family being nominated – free session, free digital images on CD, full printing rights. Please inbox or e-mail their name, contact information, address, and a brief summary of why you chose them to nicoleschwalmphotography@gmail.com. Kindly notify the family that you will be nominating them. Please put "THE OLIVIA ACT NOMINATION" in the subject line. Please DO NOT post their information here for privacy reasons. Charity's Family Shoot

I have finally found the time to sit down and post up some pictures from a recent family shoot.  The subjects are Charity, who I used to work with back in the day, her daughter Ashley and Charity's boyfriend Chris.

They were a fun family to shoot and it was nice to catch up as well.  The day was cloudy but the pictures were taken between 2:30 and 4pm so we were able to get all the light we needed without having the sun casting harsh shadows or bright light on us.  The location was Capron Park in Attleboro, MA.  This is a nice park that even has a good size zoo.
